AMERICA’S BEST CRAPPIE FISHING
(ALSO GREAT FOR BASS, CATFISH AND BREAM!)
Crappie size in Grenada Lake is the stuff of legend—and fact. The “Home of the 4-Pound Crappie” is a well-earned nickname: As Mississippi Sportsman points out, “Day in and day out, Grenada Lake probably produces more trophy-sized crappie than any other fishery in the country.” That’s particularly true in March when roe-heavy females arrive in the shallows to spawn, and that’s one reason why the Lake is home to fishing tournaments like Bass Pro’s Crappie Masters, Magnolia Crappie Club and the American Crappie Trail.
Then again, while crappie fishing is outstanding at Grenada Lake, fishing for largemouth bass, catfish and bream is also terrific. Sixteen boat ramps on the Lake make for easy access, while bank fishing is available at the Outlet Channel. 36,000 acres of fantastic fishing await.
